Tinker- Northcote

I have heard some amazing reviews about Tinker so I thought it was about time to head down there and try some of their beautifully presented food. The staff are extremely friendly and are very attentive even when they are super busy on a weekend at peak time. The menu is very extensive so it is not hard to find something that you will like.

Mango Panna Cotta

> Mango + saffron panna cotta with vanilla, almond and cranberry granola with strawberries, passionfruit, raspberries + coconut <

The panna cotta was absolutely stunning. The consistency is a little soft, however, this helps to chew the crunchy granola. The fresh fruit on the side is a perfect addition as it adds extra dimension to the dish and introduces sweeter flavours.

Egga Benedict

> Eggs benedict with jalapeno and sweet potato rosti, bacon, avocado, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce + mushrooms <

The eggs benedict was absolutely incredible. The bacon was a stand out in this dish and it just melts in the mouth. The combination of the rosti and the bacon blended so well together as the rosti was thick and the bacon had so much flavour. The sauce was quite different to a normal hollandaise sauce as it was a little sweeter and not as dry in the mouth as usual. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and were a really nice addition to this dish. Overall, if you’re an eggs benedict fan, then this is a dish you need to put on your list to try!!

Heritage Carrots

> Heritage carrots with avocado, goats cheese, braised beetroot, target beetroot, smoked almonds, chilli EVOO with a poached egg on sourdough <

This carrot dish was one that I had never seen before on a café menu, so I thought I would give it a try. The carrots were a little undercooked, however, I did not expect them to be super soft either. The different beetroots were a very interesting addition to the meal, however, I really enjoyed the stronger flavours it gave the dish. The avocado and goats cheese just topped the dish off and made it more filling and substantial. This is a very unique dish and definitely a healthier alternative to some other options if you were looking for something a little healthier.
