AU79- Abbotsford

Fried Chicken Burger'

> Fried Chicken Burger with fried chicken breast, charred jalapeno chutney, jack cheese, slaw and fries <

You cannot do brunch without a burger in the picture. Au79 have just launched some new menu items, this included, so definitely head down and check them out! This burger was the most perfect way to satisfy my hunger. The size of it was beyond normal and I absolutely loved how filling it was. The fried chicken was super crispy and the portion size of it was quite generous. The fresh chunks of lettuce at the bottom of the burger gave it a refreshing and healthier vibe, also breaking down the dry textures. The sauce topped the burger off as the creaminess melted into the sweet bun and dripped over onto the fried chicken, creating the best flavour combination. The generous portion of fries is perfect to assist you with your burger breaks so you can still snack on something while you let the heaviness of the burger digest. This is a meal you can devour at any time of the day so I would recommend trying to defeat this burger if you’re hungry!

Banana Brûlée Waffle

> Banana Brûlée Waffle- Belgain waffle with banana brulee, raspberry sorbet, popping candy, chocolate sauce and meringue <

All I can say is WOW. This creation is so unique and packed with flavour. The waffle is fluffy and has a strong flavour, unlike some where you would taste a very standard waffle mix or a crumbly waffle. The banana brûlée is to die for. The flavour is so strong and sweet, so it is perfect for those sweet tooths out there! The sauce complements the flavour of the waffles very nicely, and poured over the berry sorbet just makes the flavours pop even more. The berry sorbet is nice and creamy, and has actual berries inside, which are really fun and flavoursome. The fresh fruit adds a refreshing element that is not too strong or overpowering. If you’re dining here you MUST try these waffles alongside your main dishes.

Chilli Miso Scrambled Eggs

> Chilli Miso Scrambled Eggs with Meru miso, chilli paste, charred cauliflower, fresh herbs and macadamia and jalapeno dressing <

Scrambled eggs is hands down my favourite breakfast meal at the moment, to eat at home or at a café. Because of my obsession, I love trying café’s unique variations on the flavours and presentation. This one had a Japanese fusion theme to it which I really enjoyed. The miso altered the texture a little, which made it a bit soggier and moist, however, it enhanced the flavour and made it saltier, which I quite enjoyed. The chilli paste was not that strong but it gave the meal a pleasant kick. The charred cauliflower was an interesting side to this dish, but nonetheless, it was delicious and made the dish feel more substantial in texture.

Chorizo Pappardelle

> Chorizo Pappardelle with red peppers, croutons, egg yolk and grana padano <

You usually don’t see me posting too many ‘lunch’ dishes, but this one was a stand out for me. I don’t typically try pasta for lunch because it is quite heavy, however, being such a light pasta, the meal was just right for a midday feast. The sauce was absolutely incredible and the flavours were to die for. The chorizo was smoky and enhanced the flavours of the fresh pasta. The yolk topped off the presentation and make for a really nice yolk porn boomerang! Definitely get down here to try one of their new pasta dishes for yourself!
