Matcha Hotcakes

> Matcha Hotcakes with Japanese green tea hotcakes sandwiched between a Nutella brioche donut drizzled with chocolate ganache, pistachio + a dollop of whipped cream, red berried, both fresh and reduced throughout <

The sound of hotcakes always puts a smile on my face, but when I saw these were Matcha flavoured I could not resist trying them! A tall tower of goodness stacked with chocolate sauce and fluffy pancakes. The pancakes had a ton of flavour and the chocolate sauce topped them off. The element that enhanced this chocolate flavour even more was the raspberries in 2 forms. The way they layered this was genius and I really enjoyed the sweetness from the chocolate and sour flavours from the berries. The stack was complemented with 2 thick brownie pieces which didn’t even last a minute on the plate. The brownie was rich and soft and I reckon I could eat it for the rest of my life (if getting fat didn’t exist)

Almond Milk Porridge

> Almond Milk Porridge with quinoa + rolled oats sweetened with Canadian maple syrup, stewed apples, pomegranates + spiced blueberries <

Porridge is my favourite dish to warm me up on a cold winter’s day, and that is exactly what this one did. The portion size of this was not massive and it was presented on a plate rather than in a bowl. It was very thick and packed with flavour. The berried and honey added a heap of flavour and made it a really hearty dish. It is a heavy dish to consume because it is milk based, but it doesn’t leave you feeling too full or sick.

Pumpkin Stack

> Pumpkin Stack with a roasted pumpkin crescent topped with a herbal meledy of quinoa, cauliflower, kale, cranberries + mixed seeds nestled in a spread of cashew macadamia mousse <

If you weren’t aware, I am kind of obsessed with pumpkin. As soon as I saw this dish I knew it was going to be in my stomach within the next 30 minutes! The roast pumpkin was huge and was cooked perfectly. The blend of quinoa, cauliflower, kale, cranberries and seeds were really tasty and energising. The blend of all of this made for a very delicious and hearty meal. To eliminate the salad feel of the dish, the poached eggs and macadamia mousse helped to blend the elements together and create a really nice and filling breakfast dish. You don’t see too many of these kinds of meals on a café menu so if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary and very tasty, then I recommend giving this a shot!
